Jack Tarr

Jack Tarr joined Fishbone Solutions in 2011, bringing 16 years’ experience in marketing, internal communications and public relations. He has held management roles in several public and private sector organisations since starting his career as a journalist in 1990.

As a press officer with Nottinghamshire Police, Jack was involved with several high profile cases attracting national media interest. He managed a proactive publicity campaign to launch the first National Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS) and was the force spokesperson on several high profile murder cases, other serious crime, and major incidents.

During seven years with the National Probation Service, Jack managed internal, external and stakeholder communications in the West Midlands and South Yorkshire and was extensively involved in assessment and improvement projects using the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) model.

As a Short Term Expert (STE) working for the Home Office, he was employed by the European Union to provide strategic communications training to senior Bulgarian civil servants during the project to integrate that country into the European Union.

In the private sector, Jack has worked in the mining industry during separate stints with British Coal and UK Coal and the rail industry. At DB Schenker he worked on multinational product launches and multilingual internal communications projects.

Skilled in intranet development, knowledge management, change management, team briefing system development, web and print design, media training and proactive marketing and publicity campaigns, Jack provides Fishbone with the capacity to deliver integrated modern communications channels for any internal or external project requirement.

Jack has an honours degree in law from Sheffield University and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM).
